AWOIS entries near Cape Henlopen

Here is a screen capture showing the AWOIS entries near Cape Henlopen. The small orange box is the site we imaged yesterday and there is no point on the map related to it....might be a new find but still need to check with some other sources.

Possible unmarked wreck siting

Yesterday as part of GEOL306 Sand Camp we sent out the Donna M with our 272TD side-scan sonar. During acquisition the team reported seeing a wreck. I processed the data and pulled it up in Google Earth and cross-referenced against NOAA's AWOIS system and the local nautical charts and it appears to be unmarked and undocumented. Next to follow up with folks at NOAA and the State Archaeologist to see if this is in anyone else's database.

A fun and exciting day for all.
