HD Go Pro Camera aboard scallop dredge

Here's one of several videos that we shot during one of our recent scallop surveys with our HD Go Pro mounted to the dredge. It was challenging and fun to come up with ways to mount the camera (and to try and come up with a viable light source), kind of makes you think about what it must have been like in the early days of underwater video (well except we have HD and Cousteau didn't) ;-)

NASA Analogs Publications

This publication just came out and was passed along to me.  We've enjoyed and been privileged to work on two Analog projects (PLRP and NEEMO) and I passed up an invitation last year for DRATS.

New Modular Autonomous Biosampler

Last week the prototype of our newly designed biosampler arrived and today we are testing it out.  Here's co-PI Craig Cary checking it out while chatting with lead engineer Don Clarke @ Cellula Robotics via skype.

Vizzuality | Envisioning life

We're going to be working with the folks here at Vizzuality on our NASA/Zooniverse NEEMO project image visualization/citizen scientist project so I've been checking out their website. Some cool projects here. Now to dig up some images and python code to send to them to get started on being able to read the embedded image metadata.
