iPad apps

The new iPad is proving to be a great and versatile device. Already been using it in class and with many new ideas of how it can be used in field operations (weather awareness, mapping, planning, support). As it write this from the iPad I find the on screen keyboard is not too bad, Bluetooth pairing to a regular keyboard is superior but for mobile productivity it is not bad. Lots of great dedicated apps and of course all the regular iPod apps work and super sizing them is usually ok just a bit pixelated. The ipads definitely are fast. Some great apps already for teaching and research include weather bug, star walk, google earth, inavx (only classic). More to come...
