Marooned in Lunar Orbit (1968)

The Apollo 8 mission to orbit the moon on Christmas Eve 1968 decisively demonstrated U.S. superiority in the Moon Race, but it was also one of the riskiest missions NASA ever flew. F. Portree describes this chilling might-have-been.
